Hi everyone. Flying into Orlando for a work conference, then want to spend four days driving to the Gulf coast, maybe Clearwater and St. Pete. Can I rent a car in Orlando for that kind of trip, and are there restrictions on driving out of the city?

Hi. I did something similar last spring, conference in Orlando, then a few days on the Gulf coast. Rented through Rent-Trip https://rent-trip.com/usa/florida/orlando/ , and driving to Clearwater was no problem, just check the contract terms on where you can take the car, they were clear about it. The drive is about two hours on I-4. The Gulf sunsets alone were worth the drive. Honestly, Florida tolls add up on some routes, so ask how they’re billed. Beach days in St. Pete after a week of meetings were exactly what I needed.
