My husband and I have been talking seriously about moving to Malaga and settling there long term. We both love the idea of living close to the sea, and we’ve also been offered positions at a local clinic with salaries that make the move financially realistic. Since we’d be relocating for good, we’d rather buy a place right away than spend the first few years moving between rentals. We’re open to an apartment or a townhouse, but we don’t know the city well enough to judge the different neighborhoods yet. Where should we start looking at homes for sale in Malaga?

The clinic address should help you cut the list down, since getting across Malaga during busy hours can make some neighborhoods inconvenient for everyday life. I’d compare the coastal parts of the city with residential areas farther inland and see how much space the same amount buys in each one. Idealista and Fotocasa are useful for checking prices across a wide range of neighborhoods. You’ll also see which areas have more apartments, townhouses, or newer developments.

Don’t rule out the areas just outside central Malaga, because that’s where you’ll often find newer homes and more room for the same money. Since you’re buying for yourselves, I’d focus on a few places you’d genuinely be comfortable living in every day, then compare the actual properties available there. You can check properties for sale in Malaga here: https://spaindevelopments.com/properties . There are apartments, townhouses, and villas in Malaga and nearby parts of the coast. The property pages show prices, floor plans, and the main details, so you can quickly see what fits before contacting anyone.
