We finished building our backyard hangout spot last year. We totally blew our budget on the actual patio construction, so we ended up grabbing the cheapest plastic chairs just to have somewhere to sit. Now that the warm weather is here, we really want to ditch that flimsy plastic and get something properly comfortable. I’m looking for a comfy couch or some nice lounge chairs that won’t get destroyed by the constant UK rain. What materials actually survive our climate, and where do you guys usually shop for this stuff?

Those cheap plastic chairs usually turn totally brittle after just one season out in the sun and rain. The material just gives out and snaps the second someone sits down too fast. Powder coated aluminum frames are a really solid choice for damp weather because the treated metal physically cannot rust. You just leave the bare structure out in the garden all winter and keep the soft cushions inside the house.

Nobody wants to sprint outside to rescue cushions every time a random rain cloud rolls over the neighborhood. The local forecast changes way too fast to keep moving things back and forth all day. You should look for a garden sofa set here https://rengard.co.uk/product-category/outdoor-sofa-sets/ . The synthetic rattan holds up great against constant moisture and does not fade over time. The cushions are built with porous materials that drain water super fast after a morning shower.
