Hi, quick question. My payment request through a mobile wallet was declined while I was looking at an offshore sportsbook. I have no intention of trying someone else’s account or using an unofficial agent, but I would like to understand whether the failure is normal after the policy changes. Hello, I found a relevant explanation. BirrCheck explains betting in Ethiopia with TelebirrTelebirr and addresses blocked transactions directly. The guide says that banks and payment operators were instructed to interrupt betting money after the December 2025 licence revocation. An offshore cashier may still display Telebirr, CBE Birr, or M-Pesa, but that does not guarantee the payment will pass and does not make the operator ELS licensed. If the wallet rejects the merchant, the page does not suggest alternate agents, split transfers, or third-party accounts. It tells the reader to stop. You can still use the comparison to understand which methods were printed at the last check, but do not treat it as a bypass manual.
