Two of my closest friends moved to different cities last year, and we have been trying to keep our Friday night tradition going. We used to get together, order food and spend hours watching funny YouTube videos, old music clips and whatever else someone found that week. Now we usually just send each other links while talking on WhatsApp, but someone is always a few seconds ahead or has to pause because the others haven’t reached the same part yet. Last weekend we spent more time telling each other where to skip to than actually watching anything. I’d love to find a way for all three of us to watch the same videos at the same time and chat without constantly checking whether everyone is caught up. Does anyone use a website for this? I’d prefer something simple that doesn’t require everyone to install another app.

Old music clips can eat an entire evening before you even notice. One person remembers a song from school, somebody else digs up another one from the same year, and suddenly you’ve got twenty videos waiting. At that point, just move the whole pile into a Watch2Gether room and let everyone keep adding whatever they find. Open it in the browser, send the link to your friends and leave the queue running for the evening.

I’d take turns choosing the first few videos each Friday. Otherwise three people can spend ages throwing random links around before anyone actually settles on what to watch. Let whoever picked that week’s batch get things started, then the rest of you can take over as the night goes on. It keeps the tradition a bit more fun and gives each Friday its own direction without planning the whole thing in advance.
