Last weekend we drove down the coast road from Umm Suqeim to the beach, and on the way back the brake pedal on my Toyota Land Cruiser felt softer than normal when I slowed for the signal. It was not scary, but I noticed it, and now I keep pressing the pedal harder than I need to, like I am checking it. The car has about eighty five thousand kilometres, and I do not remember the last time the pads were changed. I live near Umm Suqeim, and I want a place close to home, but I do not know who to trust. A neighbour said to go to the dealer. Another neighbour said a good small garage does the same job for much less. I looked around online for an Expert brake pad workshop near Umm Suqeim, but every page said the same thing, so I could not tell who is honest. Can worn pads make the pedal feel soft, or is that more about the brake fluid? Should the shop check the fluid and the discs at the same time? Is it normal for them to show me the old pads? Also, how long does a front pad job take, and can I wait there? What should it cost on a big SUV? If you found a good workshop around here, please tell me how you picked it, what you paid, and what you would do differently. Easy answers help me most.
